How can I obtain Canadian citizenship?

The day you and your family become Canadians citizens is a day you will never forget!

Your Canadian passport is your ticket to the world and Canadian citizenship is a gift that you can give your children, even if they will eventually live somewhere else.

To become a citizen, you will first need to become a Permanent Resident.

To become a Permanent Resident, we will need to explore which of the 70+ immigration programs that you qualify for and work towards submitting a perfect application.

At Abisbask Immigration, this is exactly what we do! We will assess your profile thoroughly to see if we can help you reach your goals.

Generally, if you have a university degree, professional work experience and advanced language skills, there might be a pathway for you and your family to obtain permanent residency.

Once you are a permanent resident, you will need to meet the following requirements in order to gain Canadian citizenship:

Living in Canada for 3 out of the last 5 years as a Permanent Resident. If you were here in Canada for 2 years as a tourist, student or worker, this counts as 1 year towards this requirement.

You will need to prove you paid Canadian taxes for the years you were in Canada.

In addition, you will likely be required to take a language exam and a citizenship test.
